Alexis Sanchez: "I would like to extend at OM"
Summoned by Chile to face Paraguay, Alexis Sanchez confided to a local TV channel his desire to extend at OM.
Author of 16 goals with OM this season, including 12 in Ligue 1, Alexis Sanchez is having a great season in Marseille. And while the contract of the 34-year-old Chilean international expires in June, with an additional year as an option, his future remains to be written.
Present at a press conference in early March, Alexis Sanchez expressed his desire to stay at OM, but provided that the team is competitive and able to fight to win titles.
"I am happy in Marseille, the club takes care of me"
In an interview with the Chilean channel TVN, Alexis Sanchez was asked about his future and reaffirmed his desire to stay in Marseille: "I am happy in Marseille, I feel good. The club takes care of me. And that's the most important thing for me, that the club has confidence in me and takes care of me. And I want to continue to show what I am worth, not to be satisfied with what I have done. Having continuity in soccer is the most difficult thing."
Asked about his desires for next season, Alexis Sanchez insisted: "Yes, I would like to extend at OM and stay in Marseille. But in soccer, everything can change very quickly. Real Madrid or another team can arrive, and you will say what? But if I have to answer today, yes I would like to stay at OM. I am happy there, I love the fans and the club takes care of me."
