Marcelo Gallardo has turned down OM's offer
Marcelo Gallardo will not be the next OM coach, according to several Argentine journalists.
The Marcelo Gallardo deal has been dealt a blow. According to renowned Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo, Marcelo Gallardo has turned down OM's offer and will not be Igor Tudor's successor on the Marseille bench. This information has been confirmed by his colleague German Garcia Grova.

This comes as a surprise, as the former River Plate coach had been a priority for Marseille's directors for several days, and negotiations were well advanced. Some sources even spoke on Friday of an agreement between the parties, but the information was quickly denied.
Fonseca or Marcelino to forget Gallardo?
It should be noted that César Luis Merlo specified in his tweet that the Marseille club had confirmed Gallardo's refusal. OM will now have to look elsewhere. According to Foot Mercato and L'Equipe, Paulo Fonseca (LOSC) and Marcelino (free) are the two coaches being considered by OM, who are hoping to close the deal quickly, as training is due to resume on July 3.
