Bayern Munich have made a big decision on Cancelo
Bayern Munich will not trigger João Cancelo's €70m option to buy and will try to negotiate a lower price with Manchester City.
In dispute with Pep Guardiola, João Cancelo decided this winter to leave Manchester City for Bayern Munich, where he was loaned out with an estimated purchase option of 70 million euros. The 28-year-old Portuguese international appeared 8 times for Bayern, but was a substitute in the second leg against PSG. Will he still be playing for them next season?
Bayern will not pay €70m for Cancelo
According to Bild journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich has already made the decision not to pay the €70 million purchase option negotiated last winter with Manchester City. According to this source, the German club is still interested in a transfer of Cancelo this summer, but at a lower price, and therefore plans to negotiate with the English leaders.

In recent weeks, Cancelo has been linked with both Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, the Catalan rumor was cooled today by AS, which assures that Barca has decided not to pursue this lead, which is considered too expensive and too complicated (the Portuguese is presented as too conflictive). Cancelo's current contract with Manchester City runs until 2027.
