Mercato Chelsea: Pochettino has decided on João Félix
On loan to Chelsea from Atlético Madrid last winter, João Félix is not part of Mauricio Pochettino's plans for next season.
João Félix will not be returning to Chelsea next season. On loan to the Blues from Atlético Madrid last winter, without an option to buy, the 23-year-old Portuguese striker scored 4 goals in 16 Premier League appearances for the London club.
While a possible new loan deal has been mooted recently, Mauricio Pochettino has decided otherwise. The Argentine coach, <a href=/news/official-pochettino-joins-chelsea>who has just been inducted onto the Blues' bench, does not wish to work with João Félix, as Atlético Madrid president Enrique Cerezo confirmed on Tuesday.
"Pochettino doesn't count on him at Chelsea".
"The truth is that I can't tell you what our plan is with João. We learned yesterday that Chelsea's new coach is not counting on him. We don't have any plans yet, João is an Atlético player now", confided the Madrid manager.

According to Marca, João Félix has not yet been the subject of any offer for next season, not even a loan. As a reminder, he had extended his contract at Atlético Madrid until 2027 before being loaned out to Chelsea last winter, but Diego Simeone is not counting on him. His agent Jorge Mendes will therefore have his work cut out for him, as João Félix does not seem keen on returning to the Colchoneros either.
