Mercato City: Julian Alvarez on the table of Bayern Munich
Recently extended until June 2028, Manchester City's Argentine striker Julian Alvarez (23) is of interest to Bayern Munich for the summer mercato.
Second in the Bundesliga with one match to go, Bayern Munich has made the recruitment of a number nine a priority for the summer mercato. Robert Lewandowski was not replaced last year and the Bavarian club paid a high price this season.
After throwing in the towel on Victor Osimhen, considered too expensive, Bayern Munich is focusing its efforts on Randal Kolo Muani (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Harry Kane (Tottenham). But according to the German press, a new striker has just joined the short list of the German club: Julian Alvarez.
Alvarez under contract until 2028 at City
Winner of the World Cup with Argentina last December, the Manchester City striker is liked by Bayern Munich according to Bild and Sky Sports, who believe that despite his recent extension until 2028, his future remains uncertain.
News J. Alvarez: Yes, he’s on the list of FCBayern confirmed! He’s another option next to Kolo Muani. Bayern has inquired about him as he’s not a regular starter behind Haaland. Not a starter at Manchester City, where Erling Haaland is untouchable up front, Julian Alvarez has still scored 17 goals this season with the English club, in 47 appearances. Will this give him the ambition to be number one elsewhere next season?
