Mercato ex OM: Thauvin in talks with a Ligue 1 club!
Under contract with Udinese until 2025, Florian Thauvin would like to return to France during the summer mercato and is in talks with Montpellier, according to L'Equipe.
Two years after leaving OM for Tigres de Monterrey, Florian Thauvin could return to France. According to L'Equipe, the 2018 world champion is in talks with Montpellier, where he had already tried to sign last winter before finally committing himself to Udinese.
After an unsuccessful stint in Mexico, Thauvin's adventure in Italy is not going much better, as he has only been a regular on four occasions since his arrival (15 appearances in all) for no goals and no assists.
Despite a contract running until 2025, Thauvin could break his contract this summer and sign for Montpellier on a free. According to L'Equipe, the 30-year-old attacking midfielder sees Montpellier as the perfect family club to rediscover the joys of playing soccer.
