Mercato: Lens makes €15m recruit official!
On Friday evening, RC Lens confirmed the signing of promising French midfielder Andy Diouf (20), who is coming off a strong season with FC Basel.
On loan from Stade Rennais to FC Basel last summer, 20-year-old French midfielder Andy Diouf exploded onto the scene in Switzerland, making a total of 57 appearances. As a result, FC Basel didn't hesitate for a second to lift their option to buy him, which had been set at... 5.5 million euros.
And on Friday, the Swiss club made his transfer official to RC Lens, the reigning French runners-up and qualifiers for the next Champions League. According to the French press, the Sang et Or paid €15 million, including bonuses, to acquire the left-footed player, who has signed a contract that runs until June 2028.

This is already the fourth Lens recruit of the mercato, after Stijn Spierings (Toulouse, free), Neil El Aynaoui (Nancy, €1m) and Morgan Guilavogui (Paris FC, €4m). Among the departures, Seko Fofana could soon be joining Saudi club Al-Nassr.
