Mercato: Michut back at PSG, Premier League on the lookout
Sunderland has confirmed the return of Edouard Michut to PSG this summer. However, the 20-year-old midfielder could quickly return to England, where Fulham is interested in him.
Not in Christophe Galtier's plans in Paris, Edouard Michut left PSG last summer to seek playing time at Sunderland, in the English second division. A loan with an option to buy fixed at 2.5 M€ and which was increased to 5 M€ in case of the Black Cats' rise in the Premier League.
Sunderland finished 6th in the Championship, but was then eliminated in the playoffs to reach the top flight. Despite his affordable €2.5m purchase option, Sunderland made it official on Tuesday that Michut would return to PSG, thanking him for his 28 appearances.
🇫🇷 Merci, Edouard!

Fulham appreciates Edouard Michut
"Edouard has played a leading role throughout his loan at the Stadium of Light and we thank him for his contribution. He is well respected by everyone at Sunderland, but after a period of dialogue with the player and his representatives, all parties mutually agreed that it was best to pursue other opportunities at this time. We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Edou and wish him well for the future," said the sporting director of the English club Kristjaan Speakman.
According to Sky Sports, it was Michut who decided to leave Sunderland and return to PSG to explore other options for next season. <a href=/news/mercato-psg-fulham-interested-in-edouard-michut>As revealed by Fabrizio Romano last March, the London club Fulham is interested in Michut according to Sky Sports. The club is currently in 10th place in the Premier League and is having an interesting season under the leadership of Portuguese Marco Silva.
