Mercato Monaco: it's all over for Philippe Clement
Beaten again on Saturday evening by Toulouse, Monaco ended their season in a disappointing 6th place in Ligue 1. Unsurprisingly, Philippe Clement was not retained.
A freewheeling end to the season. Long a podium contender, AS Monaco collapsed from mid-April onwards, conceding five defeats in their last seven matches and finishing a disappointing 6th in Ligue 1.
Philippe Clement, who arrived on the bench in January 2022 and was under contract until June 2024, was dismissed by AS Monaco on Sunday evening.

Monaco on the lookout for Marsch and Jaissle
According to Twitter account Sports Zone, American Jesse Marsch is AS Monaco's top priority to succeed the Belgian. A former Salzburg and Leipzig coach, Marsch has been free since February, when he was sacked by Leeds United. Five days ago, the American media outlet CBS had already mentioned this possibility.

According to L'Equipe, Monaco is also interested in Matthias Jaissle (35), Salzburg's talented young German coach. Both are credible leads, as Monaco's future sporting director Thiago Scuro, who will replace Paul Mitchell, also comes from the Red Bull galaxy.
