Mercato Napoli: Galtier better placed than Rudi Garcia?
In their search for a successor to Luciano Spalletti, who left the club on the back of a historic Italian title triumph, Napoli have narrowed their short list to three names, according to Sky Italia, with Christophe Galtier currently the most likely candidate.
From French champion to Italian champion? According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Sky Italia's renowned mercato journalist, Christophe Galtier is in pole position to succeed Luciano Spalletti as coach of newly crowned Italian champions Napoli.
The current PSG coach, who has still not been officially relieved of his duties by the Parisian club, would be better placed than Rudi Garcia, who has been free since leaving Al-Nassr, and Paulo Sousa, the former Bordeaux coach currently at the Salernitana.
Napoli waiting for Galtier to leave PSG
According to La Repubblica, Galtier is indeed the hottest prospect for Napoli, who are however waiting for the French coach to be released from his final year of contract with Paris before recruiting him.
The day before yesterday, Le Parisien mentioned an agreement between <a href=/news/mercato-psg-christophe-galtier-to-receive-a-handsome-cheque>the PSG and its coach around a severance package of around 6 million euros. However, according to L'Equipe, this amicable separation has not yet been finalized.
