Mercato OL: €5m sale made official

John Textor's Olympique Lyonnais have made official the sale of Turkish central defender Cenk Özkaçar to Valencia CF, where he has been on loan with an option to buy since last summer.

Having joined Lyon in 2020 for €1.5m, Cenk Özkaçar left the club three years later for Valencia, where he had been on loan with an option to buy since last summer, and with whom he made 21 appearances in all competitions this season. A loan which paid 500,000 euros.

The purchase option for the 22-year-old Turkish central defender was set at 5 million euros, and the Spanish club, which has just managed to stay in La Liga, has decided to exercise it. Cenk Özkaçar's contract with Valencia CF runs until June 2028.
