Mercato OM: a surprise offer for Ruben Blanco?
On loan to OM from Celta Vigo this season, Spanish goalkeeper Ruben Blanco was due to return to his club. But according to the Galician press, Pablo Longoria has made an attractive offer to sign him permanently.
Having made seven appearances for OM this season, Ruben Blanco could stay with the club next season. According to the Galician media outlet Faro de Vigo, OM have made an offer of between €4 and €5 million to Celta Vigo for the 27-year-old Spanish goalkeeper, who is under contract with Celta until 2027.

The offer came as a surprise, as the French press seemed to be unanimous in stating that OM had no intention of keeping Pau Lopez's understudy beyond his loan spell. In his recent exchange with the media, Pablo Longoria nonetheless praised Ruben Blanco's attitude: "I'd like to thank Ruben Blanco, he was very positive in putting pressure on Pau (Lopez). I'd like to continue with this dynamic, this atmosphere in the goalkeeping department. Jon Pascua (the goalkeeping coach) is going to stay on."
A statement that makes perfect sense today. According to Faro de Vigo, Ruben Blanco is considering the Marseille offer, as are Celta Vigo, who initially intended to keep their goalkeeper but will not oppose his transfer if he decides to leave. In other words, the ball is in Ruben Blanco's court.
