Mercato OM: Gasperini stays at Atalanta Bergamo
Although Gian Piero Gasperini was mentioned as a player who might be of interest to OM, he has decided to stay at Atalanta Bergamo, where his contract will soon be extended.
OM are looking for a successor to Igor Tudor, and Gian Piero Gasperini's name was mentioned on Tuesday by L'Equipe, who felt that Atalanta Bergamo's Italian coach had a playing philosophy that fitted in perfectly with what Pablo Longoria wants for his future OM.
But on Tuesday, Atalanta Bergamo met with their coach, and both parties decided to continue their adventure that began in 2016: "Atalanta Bergamo is pleased to announce that coach Gian Piero Gasperini will remain on the Nerazzurri bench," the Italian club announced.

Gasperini to extend at Atalanta
According to Sky Italia, Gasperini's contract, which expires in 2024, will shortly be extended until 2025, with an additional year as an option. Fifth in Serie A this season, Atalanta will compete in the Europa League next season.
For OM, the Gasperini option is therefore one to forget, <a href=/news/mercato-om-iraola-in-longorias-sights>who yesterday teamed up with Basque Andoni Iraola, available since his departure from Rayo Vallecano.
