Mercato OM: Igor Tudor is leaving!
As previously announced, Igor Tudor has decided to leave OM and will confirm it this Thursday at his press conference at 2pm.
One year and gone. Igor Tudor met with his managers this week and has decided to leave OM at the end of the final matchday in Ajaccio on Saturday. FootMercato reports that the Croatian informed his players of his decision this morning. The news was subsequently confirmed by Fabrizio Romano and L'Equipe.
For its part, La Provence reports that Igor Tudor, who had one year left on his contract, has resigned. This is therefore not an amicable termination, still less a dismissal, and OM are unlikely to pay any severance to their coach.
Igor Tudor to return to Italy
As Igor Tudor is due to give a press conference at 2pm, two days before the Ajaccio - OM match, logic would dictate that he should publicly confirm his decision to leave OM a year before the end of his contract. And for him to explain why.
Barring any surprises, his future is likely to lie in Italy, where Juventus Turin are interested in making him Massimiliano Allegri's successor. As for OM, one name is already circulating to replace Tudor, that of Spaniard Marcelino, who is very close to Pablo Longoria. The two men worked together at Valencia.
