Mercato OM: Longoria digs up a new lead in Brazil
A regular at Botafogo, current leaders of the Brazilian league, central defender Adryelson is attracting interest from OM, according to UOL Esporte.
On the verge of appointing Marcelino to their bench, OM are working hard behind the scenes to strengthen their squad. And one of Pablo Longoria's priorities this summer is to recruit a central defender.
One possibility is <a href=/news/mercato-om-longoria-wants-romain-saiss>Romain Saïss, as revealed this week by RMC Sport. The 33-year-old Moroccan international has just one year left on his contract at Besiktas and is tempted by the Marseille challenge.
Besiktas have offered Botafogo €4m for their Brazilian central defender Adryelson (25). An offer turned down by John Textor's club, according to GloboEsporte.
Textor closes the door on Adryelson
However, according to UOL Esporte, OM and Olympiakos are also interested in Adryelson, although no offer has yet been made by either club to Botafogo.
However, it's hard to imagine John Textor selling one of Botafogo's best players to OM when he also owns OL.
In an interview with GloboEsporte on June 10, Textor stated that Adryelson and goalkeeper Lucas Perri would be staying at Botafogo this summer: "They want to go to Europe, but they also want to win here. They won't be leaving this summer, but we must have plans for both of them."
