Mercato OM: Longoria-Gallardo meeting denied

New developments in the Marcelo Gallardo dossier. While an Argentinian journalist and the daily AS revealed on Sunday that negotiations were at an advanced stage between Pablo Longoria and Marcelo Gallardo, as well as a meeting between the two men in Istanbul last weekend on the sidelines of the Champions League final, La Provence formally denies this meeting.

According to the regional daily, the OM president was in Marseille on Saturday evening and then flew to the United States on Sunday to meet his boss Frank McCourt's entourage and take stock of the end-of-season situation.

Gallardo is not OM's only option

Regarding the search for a new OM coach, La Provence reports that there has been no major breakthrough in recent hours. Marcelo Gallardo is indeed one of Marseille's leads, "but he's not the only one", the club told the regional daily, which also denied reports that Alexis Sanchez had linked his future to that of Marcelo Gallardo.
