Mercato OM: Longoria inquires about a Valencia player

OM are looking for a right-back this summer, and have enquired about Valencia's Thierry Correia, according to the Spanish press.

Now that Issa Kaboré's loan spell is over, OM are left with just one professional right-back in the shape of Jonathan Clauss, who is more comfortable playing as a piston than a pure right-back. The Phocaean club will therefore need to strengthen this position during the mercato, and is also targeting a left-back.

According to Spanish radio station Cadena SER, OM have enquired about Portuguese right-back Thierry Correia (24), under contract with Valencia until 2026 and valued at €8m by Transfermarkt.

Valencia is a club that Pablo Longoria and Marcelino, respectively OM's president and new coach, know very well, having worked together there in the past.

Could this facilitate talks with the Spanish club? Perhaps, although for the moment Cadena SER reports that OM are simply making enquiries and not necessarily making any progress. A former Sporting CP player, Thierry Correia made 28 appearances for Valencia this season.
