Mercato OM: Longoria wants to keep Alexis Sanchez, courted in Saudi Arabia
Present at a press conference on Monday to review OM's season and discuss the upcoming summer mercato, Pablo Longoria confirmed his intention to keep Alexis Sanchez, who is also being courted by Saudi Arabia.
Marseille are keen to keep hold of Alexis Sanchez (34), who has scored 18 goals for the club this season and whose contract expires on June 30. This was confirmed by Marseille president Pablo Longoria at a press conference on Monday.
"We've offered him a better salary than what he had this season".
"His season is positive, he's an exemplary leader. His level of exemplarity makes us want to continue with him. We told his agent, our intention is to continue with Alexis, but the economy is another matter. When you look at Saudi Arabia over the last few days..." confided the Spanish executive.
Pablo Longoria then added: "With Alexis Sanchez, we're listening, discussions have started in a positive way. We're now in a conversation. That's what we said. We've offered him a better salary than what he had this season."
