Mercato OM: Longoria wants to sign Tottenham player on loan
Looking for a midfield reinforcement this summer, OM are interested in Tottenham's 20-year-old Senegalese midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, according to FootMercato.
A great hope for African and Senegalese soccer, Pape Matar Sarr was recruited in the summer of 2021 by Tottenham, who left him on loan at Metz for a season before snapping him up last summer. And although the versatile midfielder played 90 minutes in the first leg of the Champions League Round of 8 against AC Milan last February, he has played little this season with Spurs (14 appearances and just 467 minutes played).
OM want to sign Pape Matar Sarr on loan
According to FootMercato, OM would like to take advantage of this lack of playing time to sign Pape Matar Sarr on loan this summer. Lending out young players in need of playing time in the Premier League is one of Pablo Longoria's specialities, having already done the same with William Saliba, Nuno Tavares and Issa Kaboré recently.
It remains to be seen what the London club and Pape Matar Sarr himself think. According to FM, the 20-year-old Senegalese midfielder has other prospects in England and is not making a return to Ligue 1 a priority.
