Mercato OM: Milan goes after Balogun
Folarin Balogun, who had a great season in Reims, where he is on loan from Arsenal, is of interest to many European clubs in view of the summer mercato, including OM and AC Milan, who would have made him their priority in attack.
Having dropped to fourth in Serie A following Monday's 10-point penalty against Juventus, AC Milan are virtually qualified for the next Champions League with two games to go, three points ahead of fifth-placed Atalanta Bergamo and four ahead of sixth-placed AS Roma.
With Zlatan Ibrahimovic (41) at the end of his contract and on his way out, AC Milan is looking for a new, younger striker to compete with Olivier Giroud (36) next season and replace him in the medium term. According to CalcioMercato, one name appeals more than the others to the Milanese sports management, that of Folarin Balogun.
Milan will soon contact the entourage of Balogun
The 21-year-old future American international has scored 21 goals in 37 games for Reims this season, including 20 in Ligue 1. Trained at Arsenal, Balogun will return to the Gunners this summer at the end of his loan before probably being sold in the process, Mikel Arteta not counting on him.
Arsenal would demand more than 30 million euros for their striker, also courted by Leipzig and OM. According to CalcioMercato, AC Milan will approach the entourage of Balogun in the next few days to advance in this priority file.
