Mercato OM: progress for Marcelo Gallardo
OM are making progress in their negotiations with Marcelo Gallardo, according to several Argentine journalists.
In their search for a successor to Igor Tudor, OM hopes to close the file on their new coach this week according to today's L'Equipe. Javier Ribalta, the Marseille club's director of soccer, has remained in Marseille to make progress on the dossier, while its president Pablo Longoria flew to the United States last weekend to take stock of the situation with Frank McCourt, as he does at the end of each season.
Discussions "progressing steadily
Marcelo Gallardo, who has been touted as the front-runner for the past few days, is in talks with OM, according to several Argentine journalists. According to Germán García Grova, OM are "making progress" in their negotiations with the former River Plate coach, and are trying "little by little" to finalize his arrival.
This information is confirmed by César Luis Merlo, another well-known Argentinian journalist, who assures us that while nothing has yet been finalized, talks between OM and Gallardo have been "progressing steadily" for several days now. Is this reason to hope for a happy outcome for OM this week?
