Mercato: once promised to OM, he's going to sign for Barça!
Mikayil Faye, a promising 18-year-old Senegalese defender, is on the verge of leaving Croatia to sign for Barça, although he was once rumored to be interested in OM.
Like Bamba Dieng, Mikayil Faye was supposed to leave the Diambars academy to sign for OM when he came of age. This is what the French press reported in April 2021. But after abruptly leaving Diambars and signing for Croatia, the 18-year-old Senegalese central defender, who can also play on the left, is now set to join Barça for €5 million plus bonuses.
This was revealed on Sunday on Twitter by journalist Fabrizio Romano, while Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund were also interested in this promising left-back born in 2004, who has played 14 matches since last February with NK Kustosija, a Croatian second division club.
