Mercato PSG: Paris opens the door to a departure of Verratti
Recently extended until 2026, Marco Verratti is no longer untouchable at PSG and could leave the Parisian club this summer.
At PSG since 2012, Marco Verratti has long been the darling of the Parc des Princes. If the Italian midfielder still has supporters in Paris, he is no longer untouchable and was notably taken to task during the recent Ultras rally in front of the club's headquarters, along with Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Last week, L'Equipe revealed that Marco Verratti was wondering about his future at PSG, despite a contract recently extended until 2026. However, the sports daily said that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi was not in a position to sell his midfielder.
Saudi Arabia also targets Verratti
But in today's edition, Le Parisien claims that the PSG management is opening the door to a summer departure of the 30-year-old Italian international, who probably had his worst season at the club, has a large salary and is often criticized for his lifestyle.
If Verratti and PSG seem open to the idea of parting this summer, it is still necessary that a club makes a good offer to Paris and that the club in question interests Verratti. L'Equipe explained last week that Saudi Arabia wanted to attract the "little Owl", but that he was not interested in this destination for the moment.
