Mercato: Tottenham has finally found its new coach
After numerous rejections, Tottenham has finally found Antonio Conte's successor, according to several English media. It is expected to be Greek-Australian Ange Postecoglou.
Having joined Celtic FC in the summer of 2021, Ange Postecoglou has done a great job in Scotland and is set to continue his career in the Premier League. <a href=/news/mercato-om-8-names-to-replace-tudor>Cited as one of OM's potential post-Tudor leads, the 57-year-old Greek-Australian coach is close to Tottenham.
According to the Daily Telegraph and The Athletic, his move to Spurs is set to be finalized in the next few days, putting an end to the London club's weeks-long search for a new coach. After parting company with Antonio Conte in March, Tottenham appointed his deputy Cristian Stellini, before handing over to Ryan Mason until the end of the season.

A disappointing 8th in the Premier League, Totttenham had been talking to a number of coaches since March (Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann, Arne Slot), but none of them wanted to come in. Ange Postecoglou, who scored a superb hat-trick with Celtic this season, is on the verge of accepting the challenge.
A former Australia coach (2013-2017), the Athens native has also coached Australian clubs South Melbourne FC, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory (with 4 league titles in all) as well as Japanese club Yokohama F. Marinos, with whom he was also champion in 2019.
