Mercato: West Ham turned down €104m from Manchester City for Declan Rice
Having already turned down two offers from Arsenal, West Ham have now rejected Manchester City's first bid for Declan Rice. An offer of 104 million euros, including bonuses.
It's the soap opera of this early mercato in England. A talented 24-year-old English defensive midfielder, Declan Rice is the subject of a battle between Arsenal and Manchester City. The Gunners have been the first to offer West Ham two bids. The latter, for €104m (€87m €17m bonus), was rejected by the Hammers, allowing City to step in.
West Ham demand €116m for Declan Rice
According to The Athletic, Manchester City sent West Ham their first offer this week, also for €104m, but with a €93m fixed price plus €11m in bonuses. According to Fabrizio Romano, the London club are demanding at least €116m for their England international.

The Italian journalist, who has been following the case closely, insists that Arsenal will soon be making a third offer. Presumably, Manchester City will also come back to the table. West Ham can rub their hands...
