Mourinho is not PSG's priority to replace Galtier
Announced as one of PSG's hot prospects to replace Christophe Galtier this summer, Jose Mourinho is not the Parisian club's plan A according to Le Parisien.
Jose Mourinho has been regularly mentioned as a target for PSG's QSI version, and he is still being mentioned this year as he has regained credit at AS Roma and the Parisian club is preparing to turn the page on Christophe Galtier.
However, in today's edition, Le Parisien greatly cools down this track, explaining that there have been no negotiations at this stage between Jorge Mendes, Mourinho's historical agent, and Luis Campos, PSG's sports consultant. The regional daily even claims that Mourinho is not PSG's plan A to replace Galtier.
Campos and Mourinho, a disturbing friendship
The Mourinho track at PSG seems credible on paper, especially because of the close ties between Mendes and Campos and between Campos and Mourinho, who have been friends for many years.
But according to Le Parisien, Campos and Mourinho do not want to break their friendship and therefore do not want to work together in Paris after having already done so at Real Madrid a few years ago.
If Mourinho is not the priority of PSG, it remains to be seen who is. Thiago Motta, who is doing a good job in Bologna? Julian Nagelsmann, who turned down Chelsea and Tottenham? Or still Zinedine Zidane, who makes the Emir of Qatar dream but still doesn't seem to be keen to come to Paris? The suspense remains...
