Official: Boutobba signs for Clermont
Clermont Foot has made its first recruit of the summer mercato official, and as agreed he is Bilal Boutobba, the attacking midfielder from Chamois Niortais and a former top prospect of OM.
Bilal Boutobba, scorer of 11 goals and 5 assists in Ligue 2 last season, reached the end of his contract this summer with Niort, relegated to the French National League.
And the former OM star, whom Marcelo Bielsa launched into Ligue 1 at the age of 16, has signed a three-year contract with Clermont, who finished a creditable 8th in Ligue 1 this season.

"I'm very happy to be signing for Clermont Foot 63. It's a great team that plays ball very well, with a coach whose work I appreciate. I heard a lot about him when I arrived at Niort," commented Bilal Boutobba on the club's website.
"After 3 great seasons at Chamois, I'm delighted to be back in Ligue 1 Uber Eats. Now I'll have to work even harder to make my mark. I can't wait to get back to training to discover my new partners and learn from all these experienced players on a daily basis", he added.
