Official: Brighton announces its third mercato recruit
Sixth in the Premier League at the end of last season, Brighton announced on Friday the signing of Mahmoud Dahoud, their third recruit of the summer mercato.
And that's three for Brighton. After Brazilian striker João Pedro, who joined from Watford for €34m, and English midfielder James Milner, who joined free from Liverpool, the Seagulls confirmed on Friday the signing of midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud, free since the end of his contract at Borussia Dortmund.
We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to sign midfielder @modahoud8, when his contract with @BVB expires at the end of the month. ✍

The 27-year-old German international has signed a four-year deal with Brighton, running until June 2027. "I'm delighted to have Mahmoud in my team. I wanted him when I was at Sassuolo and I'm sure he'll be an excellent player for us," Italian coach Roberto De Zerbi told the English club's website. This addition will enable the club to compensate for the departure of Argentinian midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, transferred to Liverpool this summer for €40 million.
