Injured just before the World Cup in Qatar, Nkunku has recovered well from his injury to score 23 goals for RB Leipzig this season, including one in his club's German Cup final win over Eintracht Frankfurt. Trained at PSG, Nkunku will be reunited with a number of French players at Chelsea, including Wesley Fofana, Benoît Badiashile and Malo Gusto.
"I'm incredibly happy to be joining Chelsea," reacted Nkunku on the London club's website. I can't wait to meet my new coach and teammates and show Chelsea fans what I can do on the pitch. Having played in Ligue 1 and the Bundesliga, I now want to play in the Premier League, one of the strongest leagues in the world. I'm very excited about this challenge and I'll be proud to wear the Chelsea shirt."
