Official: James Milner moves to Brighton

Free since the end of his contract at Liverpool, experienced England midfielder James Milner has bounced back to Brighton.

In the pipeline for weeks, the signing of James Milner (37) at Brighton is now official. At the end of his contract at Liverpool, after eight years with the Reds, the English midfielder has signed a one-year deal with the Seagulls, plus an additional year as an option.

Sixth in the Premier League at the end of last season, Roberto De Zerbi's Brighton recently lost <a href=/news/official-liverpool-acquire-silver-world-champion>Alexis Mac Allister, transferred to... Liverpool for around 40 million euros.

James Milner, who made 43 appearances for the Reds last season, is Brighton's second summer signing after Brazilian striker João Pedro, who arrived from Watford for 34 million euros.
