Official: Patrick Vieira sacked by Crystal Palace
The day after another defeat against Brighton, Crystal Palace has parted ways with its French coach Patrick Vieira.
In office since July 4, 2021, Patrick Vieira is no longer the coach of Crystal Palace, currently 12th in the Premier League. The London club lost Wednesday night at Brighton and has not won a single game since the beginning of the calendar year 2023 (the Eagles are on a series of 12 games without a win). A black series that pushed Crystal Palace to separate from its 46-year-old French coach.

"It is with enormous regret that this difficult decision has been made. Ultimately, results in recent months have placed us in a precarious league position and we felt a change is necessary to give us the best chance of retaining Premier League status" reacted Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish.
"Patrick's impact has been significant"
The latter then praised the work done by the 98 world champion: "That said, Patrick’s impact since joining us in the summer of 2021 has been significant, and he is held in the highest regard by myself, and all of his colleagues. He led the team to a Wembley FA Cup semi-final and respectable 12th placed finish last season playing some exciting football, which was a challenging and crucial campaign for the club given the changes we made to the squad prior to his arrival."
Crystal Palace was Patrick Vieira's third club as head coach after New York City FC (January 1, 2016 to June 10, 2018) and OGC Nice (July 2018 to December 2020).
