OM: Longoria makes Tudor's departure official
At a press conference on Wednesday, OM president Pablo Longoria confirmed that coach Igor Tudor would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Igor Tudor will no longer be OM coach, it's official. Pablo Longoria opened the Croatian coach's press conference today by confirming the information that had leaked two hours ago, namely Igor Tudor's desire to leave the Phocaean club a year before the end of his contract.
"We've accepted our coach Igor Tudor's choice".
"We've accepted and respected our coach Igor Tudor's choice not to continue the adventure with us. I'd like to thank Igor for the good work he's done, with a lot of respect. We've had a lot of discussions lately to analyze the situation. We'd like to thank him for the values of high standards, hard work and rigour he has brought to this club. We're very happy with the work he's done," said OM's Spanish president.
"I'm not leaving because I have an agreement with another club".
Afterwards, Igor Tudor took the floor and did not wish to give the precise reasons for his choice, simply assuring that he had no agreement with another club: "I thank the president for his words, but also David (Friio), Javier (Ribalta) and Frank (McCourt). It's been an honor for me to be part of the club, to find supporters like you rarely find, an energy that is rare. I've grown up, I'm leaving the club and I'm leaving it in better condition than I found it. I took this decision for professional and personal reasons. I'm not leaving because I have an agreement with another club or because I've had an argument with someone."
