Premier League rather than PSG or Napoli for Luis Enrique?
A free agent since leaving the Spanish national team, Luis Enrique is leaning towards the Premier League, according to Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, who was courting him for the post-Spalletti era.
Italian champions for the third time in their history, Napoli are looking for a new coach, with Luciano Spalletti having confirmed in recent hours that he will be taking a sabbatical. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is therefore on the lookout for a new coach, as he confirmed to Rai.
"We're evaluating coaches for the 4-3-3 with our extraordinary players that we want to keep, I've evaluated a dozen profiles that can fit with this system of play, I'll choose the best one to continue the cycle. I still want to sow seeds, and I need the support of all Neapolitans," he confided.
"Luis Enrique has the Premier League in mind".
Could Luis Enrique be that coach? "He's a great coach, he did very well at Barcelona, but I think he's got the Premier League in mind, we have to remember that we're competing with leagues more attractive than ours, like the English league. I can tell him that there's no Gulf over there and that we don't eat as well as here, but more than that... Economic problem? There are more interesting offers over there," confided De Laurentiis.
Last week, Le Parisien revealed that <a href=/news/psg-naples-duel-for-luis-enrique>Luis Enrique was also on PSG's radar to succeed Christophe Galtier. If he were to move to England, Luis Enrique could sign for Tottenham, who have just finished a disappointing 8th in the Premier League and are looking for a new number 1 coach to succeed Antonio Conte, who left shortly before the end of the season.
