PSG confirm they are parting ways with Christophe Galtier
Christophe Galtier is no longer coach of PSG. Luis Campos has just broken the news to him, according to Le Parisien.
Christophe Galtier's fate had been sealed several weeks ago, but PSG had yet to communicate it to the man in question, who still had one year left on his contract. According to Le Parisien, Luis Campos told him in the last few hours that he was no longer coach.
This was the logical consequence of a difficult season both on and off the pitch, despite the club's historic eleventh French league title. But Galtier's PSG were very disappointing in the second half of the season, suffering a succession of defeats and eliminations, first in the French Cup against OM and then in the Champions League against Bayern Munich in the last 8.
The char à voile controversy and the accusations of racism levelled at him in Nice were no doubt not in his favor either. PSG must now confirm the news publicly, which shouldn't take long, and speed up their search for a new coach. In recent days, the name of Julian Nagelsmann has come up, but Le Parisien is not ruling out Luis Enrique and Xabi Alonso either.
